The Big Lunch is nationally set day for communities to come together across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually on the first Sunday in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun see http://www.thebiglunch.com/about/index.php ] If it went ahead in Hersham this summer, it would take the form of a very simple ‘do it yourself’ community picnic where you’d bring your own rug sandwiches drinks etc – we hope people may also bring some games along to help entertain themselves and others. If more than 30 sign the pledge the organisers will see if they can provide some entertainment / optional community games of some sort. People often say that Vauxmead is an underused potential community space in Hersham – the Big Lunch provides an opportunity to make the most of it! Show your support and help make it happen.
